Emure-Ekiti, Nigeria – On Friday, September 22, 2023, the town of Emure-Ekiti gathered in solemn remembrance to bid farewell to a distinguished son, legal luminary, and family patriarch, Late Barrister Peter Adebamigbe Akinlolu, who passed away at the age of 83.
The funeral mass took place at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Emure-Ekiti, where family, friends, and members of the community joined together in a reverent service to honor his life, achievements, and unwavering faith. The service was marked by moving tributes, hymns, and reflections that celebrated the legacy of a man remembered for his integrity, wisdom, and dedication to justice and service.
A grand reception followed at the St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School Field, where guests were received by the Akinlolu family. The atmosphere, though somber, was filled with warmth and gratitude as guests came from near and far to pay their respects.
The funeral rites were preceded by a Wake-Keep Service held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at his residence in Emure-Ekiti. Barrister Akinlolu was a pillar in both the legal profession and his community, known for his humility, intellect, and commitment to upholding the values of truth and fairness.
