Speaking with depth and clarity, High Chief Fagbamigbe took the corps members on an engaging journey through the history, customs and traditions that define the identity of the Emure people within the broader Ekiti heritage. He highlighted the unique values, age-long practices and time-honoured beliefs that have shaped Emure Kingdom, stressing that these traditions remain an integral part of the people’s social and moral fabric.
He urged the corps members to take cultural preservation seriously, noting that respect for the customs of one’s host community fosters unity, peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding. The monarch’s representative warmly welcomed the young graduates to Emur – Ekiti, assuring them that they would find the community peaceful, hospitable, and accommodating throughout their stay.
High Chief Fagbamigbe also cautioned corps members to avoid conduct that could tarnish their image or that of the NYSC scheme. He emphasised the importance of comportment, self-discipline and community engagement, advising them to make positive contributions that would leave lasting impressions in the hearts of the people they serve.
In a show of appreciation, the corps members responded with a thunderous chorus of “Kabiyesi ooo!”, an unmistakable gesture of reverence and gratitude to the monarch for his fatherly counsel and blessings.
